Beautifully illustrated throughout, this 96 page hardback book by Christopher Vine is a really great addition to the Peter's Railway Series.

'Peter and Grandpa have been asked to extend their mini railway to the village of Oaksted. It is five miles across the fileds and will bring children to school saving fuel and pollution' The book includes the science and engineering of railway construction and there is a technical section at the end of the story. Peter and his Grandpa are a great team and the story is beautifully written.
